2. Selector Mechanism Functionality Test

-- Start the engine.

1. Check 2.:

-- Move the selector lever into "D/S".

-- Move the selector lever into "N".

-- Move the selector into "D/S".

Specified Values

The selector lever must not lock up when the vehicle is moving faster than 5 km/h and when moving the selector lever into "N". The selector lever can be moved into "D/S".
The locking magnets inside the selector mechanism will lock the selector lever after approximately 1 second if the vehicle is moving slower than 2 km/h (almost stationary) and when the selector lever is in "N". The selector lever can be moved into "D/S" only when the brake pedal is pressed.

2. Check 2.:

-- Move the selector lever into "N".

-- Press the brake pedal.

Specified Values

It is not possible to move the selector lever forward and it is not possible to shift into "R".
The selector lever must stay in "N".

3. Check 2.:

-- Move the selector lever into "D/S".

-- Move the selector lever into "N".

-- Move the selector lever into "R".

-- Move the selector lever to "P".

Specified Values

The selected gear must appear in the instrument cluster as well as in the Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-, -2-. The displays must match.

-- Do not press the brake pedal.

Specified Values

The selector lever is locked cannot be moved out of "P" when the Selector Lever Release Button -E681-, -1- is pressed.

If the specified values are not obtained:

-- Make sure the selector lever handle is installed correctly. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
