2. Selector Mechanism Functionality Test
-- Start the engine.
1. Check 2.:
-- Move the selector lever into "D/S".
-- Move the selector lever into "N".
- Do not press the Selector Lever Release Button -E681-, -1- or the brake pedal.
-- Move the selector into "D/S".
Specified Values
- The selector lever must not lock up when the vehicle is moving faster than 5 km/h and when moving the selector lever into "N". The selector lever can be moved into "D/S".
- The locking magnets inside the selector mechanism will lock the selector lever after approximately 1 second if the vehicle is moving slower than 2 km/h (almost stationary) and when the selector lever is in "N". The selector lever can be moved into "D/S" only when the brake pedal is pressed.
2. Check 2.:
-- Move the selector lever into "N".
- Do not press the Selector Lever Release Button -E681-, -1-.
-- Press the brake pedal.
Specified Values
- It is not possible to move the selector lever forward and it is not possible to shift into "R".
- The selector lever must stay in "N".
3. Check 2.:
-- Move the selector lever into "D/S".
-- Move the selector lever into "N".
-- Move the selector lever into "R".
-- Move the selector lever to "P".
Specified Values
- The selected gear must appear in the instrument cluster as well as in the Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-, -2-. The displays must match.
-- Do not press the brake pedal.
Specified Values
- The selector lever is locked cannot be moved out of "P" when the Selector Lever Release Button -E681-, -1- is pressed.
If the specified values are not obtained:
-- Make sure the selector lever handle is installed correctly. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
