Gearshift Mechanism, Checking: Notes
WARNING:
There is a risk of injury and accident from accidentally engaging a gear when the engine is running.
- Before performing any work with the engine running, move the selector lever into "P" and press the parking brake button to set the electro-mechanical parking brake.
- Pay attention to the safety precautions when driving. Refer to VEHICLE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
- Perform all tests. If the specified values are not reached, perform "Guided Fault Finding" with Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
Overview:

- 3. Check the displays in the instrument cluster. Refer to 3. Check the Displays in the Instrument Cluster
- 4. Check the ignition key lock. Refer to 4. Check the Ignition Key Lock (vehicles with an ignition key lock)
NOTE:
Check the selector mechanism thoroughly to make sure it functions correctly.
