Ignition Coils, Removing And Installing
Cylinder 1 Ignition Coil, Removing
-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and remove the air duct pipe -1-.
Cylinder 2 and 3 Ignition Coils, Removing
-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connectors -1 and 2- and free up the wires.
-- Disconnect the connectors:

For Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 -N205-
3 -
For the ignition coils
5 -
For the Camshaft Position Sensor -G40-
-- Remove the bolts -4- and free up the ground wire.
-- Remove the wiring duct -2- from the ball pin and push to the side.
Cylinder 4, 5 and 6 Ignition Coils, Removing:
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the Engine Control Module -J623- from the bracket and push it slightly to the side. Refer to Engine Control Module -J623-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Vehicles with 2.9L engine and particulate filter: remove the connector -1- for the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 3 Bank 2 -G497- from the bracket, disconnect it and free up the wire.
-- Release the catch in direction of -arrow- and remove the wiring duct -1- from the ball pin and push to the side. If necessary, free up the wiring harness.
-- Disconnect the connectors -2-.

Installing
Additional procedures:
-- Install the Engine Control Module -J623-. Refer to Engine Control Module -J623-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Tightening Specifications
- Refer to OVERVIEW - CHARGE AIR HOSE CONNECTIONS .
- Ground Wires. Refer to appropriate service information.
