Engine, Securing To Engine And Transmission Holder: Procedure

The transmission is separated from the engine. Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .

-- Remove the intermediate plate. Refer to Fig 3.

-- Remove the left alignment sleeve from the cylinder block.

-- Engage the Engine Sling :2024A -1- as shown on the engine lifting eye and on the Workshop Crane :VAS 6100 -2-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of injury from the lifted motor falling.

The possibility for parts of the body to be pinched or crushed increases.

- Secure the mounting hooks and pins on the lifting tackle with a securing pin.

-- Insert the securing pins -arrows- to secure the mounting hooks and alignment pins.

-- Secure the engine to the Engine and Gearbox Bracket :VAS 6095A -1-.

Assembling

Assemble in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Insert the left alignment sleeve at the cylinder block.

-- Install the intermediate plate. Refer to Fig 3.
