Steering Columns: Description

Steering column consists of a steering wheel, horn control, turn signal switch, headlight dimmer switch, and an anti-theft steering column lock which operates in conjunction with the ignition switch. On 4 cylinder models, column is connected to steering gear by a flexible coupling. On 6 cylinder models with two-section steering shaft, lower shaft is connected to steering gear by a universal joint. The upper shaft is connected by a universal joint, through a flexible coupling, to the lower shaft.
