With engine cold, turn ignition on. Disconnect Red switching valve and connect a test lamp to connector terminals. Temperature switch is good if test lamp does NOT come on. If test lamp comes on, either coolant temperature is above 113°F (45°C), temperature switch is defective, or speed switch is defective.
