MOTRONIC Control Unit (MCU)

The MCU receives electronic input signals from several engine sensors. Information supplied by these sensors is used to determine optimum ignition and fuel injection timing under various engine operating conditions.

An ideal air/fuel ratio of 14:1 is maintained under most driving conditions. This is the ratio at which the catalytic converter operates most efficiently to reduce exhaust emissions.
