EGR Solenoid
- With ignition switch in "RUN" position, check for voltage on Grey/White wire at EGR solenoid. If there is no voltage, check for open circuit between EGR solenoid and fuse 18 in fuse panel. Service as necessary and check system operation.
- If voltage at wire is okay, disconnect vacuum outlet hose at EGR solenoid and install a "T" fitting and vacuum gauge. Disconnect Brown/Grey wire at EGR temperature switch and disconnect jumper wire at ground.
- Start engine and check for vacuum. Check air flow in switching valve at idle and at 1000-2800 RPM with coolant above 122°F (50°C). At this point there should be vacuum in connecting line between EGR solenoid and EGR valve. This can be felt by hand, or measured with a vacuum gauge.
