EGR Valve

Disconnect vacuum hose at EGR valve. Connect a hand-held vacuum pump to EGR valve and apply 12 in. Hg. Observe gauge for loss of vacuum. Release vacuum from EGR valve and listen for click of valve hitting seat. If no click can be heard, replace EGR valve and recheck system.
