Fuel Injection System - Diesel: Operation: Governor
The centrifugal governor employs a connecting lever to control the injection rate in accordance with the pertinent engine speed. The injection timing control changes the beginning of injection according to pressure inside of the pump. Pressure valves on the outlet of the injection pump make sure that a certain initial pressure is always in the injection lines leading to the fuel injectors. See Fig 1.
