Air Temperature Sensor

  1. To check air temperature sensor circuit of airflow meter, turn ignition off. Disconnect airflow meter. Measure resistance across airflow meter terminals No. 3 and No. 4 (Gray/Blue and Gray/Violet wire terminals).
  2. Compare resistance values with specification. Refer to the AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE  . If values are incorrect, replace airflow meter.
AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE

Air Temperature °F (°C) Ohms
14 (-10) 8260-10,560
63-73 (17-23) 2200-2700
117-127 (47-53) 760-910
NOTE: On 5 and 7 Series models with self-diagnostics, a short or open in the air temperature sensor will set a trouble code 44. If code is set, MCU will operate engine with preset air temperature value.
