11 00 050 Removing and installing engine (M57T2)

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Secure starter motor (1) with transmission screw (2) against falling out.

Release screw (3) and place grounding strap (4) to one side.

Release lock (1)

Remove turbocharger hoses (2).

Release A/C compressor (3).

Dynamic Drive optional extra: 

Secure all connecting leads with cable ties against falling down.

Release and disconnect coolant hoses (1).

Unlock and detach heating hoses (2).

Installation note: 

Quick-release couplings of coolant hoses are correctly fitted when they snap into place with a clearly audible click  .

Release power steering pump (1) and place to one side.

NOTE: Secure power steering pump (1) with cable tie against falling down.

Mount special tool 11 0 020 on engine.

IMPORTANT: Pay attention to chain of special tool 11 0 020 , risk of damage  to pressure control valve.
NOTE: Secure engine wiring harness with cable tie on engine against falling down.

Remove screw (1) on left/right.

Disconnect vacuum line (2).

Lift out engine with crane.
