12 35 005 Remove/install/replace electric machine

Special tools required: 

• 24 0 200
• 00 2 300
• 2 297 311
• 2 297 312

The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work  :

• DE-ENERGIZE THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM 
• Observe SAFETY INFORMATION  for working with hybrid cars.

Necessary preliminary work: 

• REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Fix special tool 24 0 200 to marked positions on automatic transmission (1).

Using special tool 24 0 200 , fit automatic transmission (1) to special tool 00 2 300 (assembly stand).

Position automatic transmission (4) vertically.

Release screw (1).

Release screws (2) of electrical machine (3) on automatic transmission (4).

Installation note: 

Replace screws.

Observe screw-fitting sequence:

1. Apply tightening force to screws (1 - 5) in numeric sequence.

   Jointing torque 12 35 1AZ .

2. Tighten screw (6).

   Tightening torque 12 35 2AZ .

Screw special tool 2 297 311 in electrical machine (1).

Position workshop crane (1) vertically over electrical machine (2).

Attach workshop crane to special tool 2 297 311 .

Carefully lift out electrical machine (2) from automatic transmission (3) with workshop crane (1).

Sourcing reference, workshop crane: 

Installation note: 

Clean automatic transmission prior to installation of electrical machine (1).

Align to electrical machine (1) to transmission aperture for high-voltage connection (2) and rotor position sensor (3).

Carefully insert electrical machine (1) in automatic transmission.

Carefully place electrical machine (1) on special tool 2 297 312 .

1. Service functions
2. Power train
3. Hybrid car
4. Electrical machine electronics
5. Motor position sensor adjustment
