71 60 100 Removing and installing/replacing control unit for trailer coupling release

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Open luggage compartment floor trim panel

Release clips (1) and fold up storage shelf (2).

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Release retaining lug (2).

Pull out control unit for trailer coupling release (3) towards the top in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

Make sure control unit for trailer coupling release (3) if fitted correctly.

Replacement:

Perform an initialization in the procedure or manual initialization via the button in the luggage compartment. The manual initialization is described in the procedure.
