  • 11 36 044 Remove and install/replace the exhaust camshaft adjuster (745e xDrive PHEV 2020-2022)
    • Releasing VANOS central valve of the exhaust camshaft adjuster
    • Removing the VANOS central valve of the exhaust camshaft adjuster
    • Remove exhaust camshaft adjuster
    • Install exhaust camshaft adjuster
    • Installing the VANOS central valve of the exhaust camshaft adjuster
    • Releasing the VANOS central valve of the intake adjuster
    • Installing the VANOS central valve of the intake adjuster
    • Remove the test gauges for securing the camshafts
    • Adjusting the camshafts with the special tool
    • Pre-tensioning the timing chain with the special tool
    • Tightening the VANOS central valve of the exhaust camshaft adjuster
    • Tightening the VANOS central valve of the intake adjuster

    • Pre-tensioning the timing chain with the special tool
    • Tightening the VANOS central valve of the exhaust camshaft adjuster
    • Tightening the VANOS central valve of the intake adjuster

    • Central bolt, cylinders 5-8, intake
    • Check the VANOS central valve
    • Adjusting the timing at cylinders 5-8
  • 11 36 730 Removing and installing/replacing VANOS solenoid actuator, left (750i 2016-2019)
    • Loosen the plug connection on the VANOS central valve, exhaust side, cylinders 5 to 8
    • Loosening the plug connection on the VANOS central valve, intake side, cylinders 5 to 8
    • Removing the actuator of the variable camshaft timing control
    • Installing the VANOS actuator
  • 11 36 735 Removing and installing/replacing both actuators, right (750i 2016-2019)
    • Releasing the plug connection on the actuator on the exhaust side for cylinders 1 to 4
    • Releasing the plug connection to the actuator on the intake side of cylinders 1 to 4
    • Removing the actuator of the variable camshaft timing control
    • Installing the VANOS actuator
  • 11 36 047 Removing and installing both adjusters, left (750i xDrive 2016-2022)
    • Remove the sealing cap on the cylinder head of the cylinder bank 2
    • Moving the crankshaft to the installation position to adjust the timings
    • Check the VANOS adjuster of cylinder bank 2
    • Relaxing chain tensioner on bank 2 for checking or setting timing
    • Removing hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
    • Preloading the timing chain of cylinder bank 2
    • Fixing the engine in the installation position on cylinder 1 (set valve timings)
    • Removing both left VANOS adjust
    • Installing both left VANOS adjusters
    • Removing special tool to pretension timing chain on cylinder bank 2
    • Installing the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 2
    • Installing the sealing cap on the cylinder head of cylinder bank 2
  • 11 36 048 Removing and installing/replacing both adjusters, right (750i xDrive 2016-2022)
    • Remove the sealing cap on the cylinder head of the cylinder bank 1
    • Moving the crankshaft to the installation position to adjust the timings
    • Checking the VANOS adjuster of cylinder bank 1
    • Relieving the chain tensioner at cylinder bank 1 for checking or setting the valve timings
    • Removing hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
    • Preloading the timing chain of cylinder bank 1
    • Fixing the engine in the installation position on cylinder 1 (set valve timings)
    • Removing, installing, replacing the VANOS adjusters on the right
    • Removing the special tool to pretension the timing chain at cylinder bank 1
    • Installing the hydraulic chain tensioner of cylinder bank 1
    • Install the sealing cap on the cylinder head of cylinder bank 1
