Code B335, Loss Of ECC Or CRTC Serial Data

Fig 1: Code B335, Wiring Diagram (Reatta & Riviera) Loss Of ECC Or CRTC Serial Data

This code can only be viewed as a history code, because if it was current, service diagnostics could not be entered. Most likely the ECC controls for heating and A/C will also be inoperative when the loss of serial data occurs.

Since the serial data lines are redundant, a double open in the circuit No. 800 has to occur to set this code. However, the code will also set for a single open in the power or ground supply to the ECC.

Code B335 indicates an intermittent has occurred. Should intermittent problem persist, check the following circuits for opens or poor terminal contacts.

INTERMITTENT PROBLEM CIRCUIT CHECK

CIRCUIT CRTC TERM. (REATTA & RIVIERA)
Data Terminals "C5" & "D6"
CRTC Wake-Up Terminal "D2"
CPS Power Terminal "C1"
Ground Terminals "C8" & "D8"

G111464

If intermittent persists, replace CRTC.

INTERMITTENT PROBLEM CIRCUIT CHECK

CIRCUIT ECC TERMINAL (TORONADO)
Serial Data Terminals No. 1 & 2
Ignition 1 Terminal No. 7
Ground Terminals No. 4 & 9

If intermittent persists, replace ECC Head.

INTERMITTENT PROBLEM CIRCUIT CHECK

CIRCUIT CRT TERMINAL (TORONADO)
Serial Data Terminals "A3" & "B3"
Ignition 1 Terminal "A6"
Ground Terminal "A8"

If intermittent persists, replace IPC Head.
