Preliminary Inspection
Verify customer complaint by operating suspected system. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage. Inspect for blown fuses and damaged relays. Inspect for loose or corroded connections, damaged wiring harnesses and/or switches. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation, which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment is properly installed. Perform the following checks. If fault is found, repair as necessary.
- If all power windows are inoperative, check circuit breaker C.
- If windows move slowly, verify battery is fully charged, windows are free of mechanical binding and pivot joints are greased, and ground G200 is clean and tight. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- If switches do not illuminate when park lamps are turned ON.
- If the Express Down feature does not work, but window moves down with each switch depression, replace the master power window switch assembly.
- If no fault is found, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
