Left Front Window Does Not Operate
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a test light, backprobe between ground and Brown wire terminal at master switch connector. If test light is on, go to next step. If test light is off, repair open in Brown wire between master switch and power window 30-amp circuit breaker.
- Backprobe between Dark Blue wire and Brown wire terminals on Caprice and Impala SS, or Dark Blue wire and Gray wire terminals on Roadmaster at master switch connector. While observing test light, press left window switch at master switch to up and down positions. If test light is on, go to next step. If test light is off, check for poor connection at master switch. If connection is okay, replace master switch.
- Backprobe between Dark Blue wire and Brown wire terminals at left front window motor connector. While observing test light, press left front window switch at master switch to up and down positions. If test light is off, check for open in Dark Blue wire, Brown wire or Gray wire between master switch connector and left front window motor connector.
- On Roadmaster, check for poor connection at window control module. Repair if necessary. If connections are okay, replace window control module. On all models, if test light is on, check for poor connection at left front window motor. If connection is okay, replace left front window motor.
