Circuit Description

The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor measures pressure changes within the intake manifold to indicate engine load. MAP sensor is mounted on top of intake manifold. MAP sensor has a 5-volt reference circuit, ground and a signal circuit.

PCM compares MAP sensor signal activity with throttle angle and RPM. If PCM detects a large MAP change without sensing a change in throttle angle and RPM, DTC will set.
