DTC B2417, DRL Control Module Circuit (Short To Ground Or Open): Testing
- If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM 32-pin connector C1. Turn ignition on. Using test light, backprobe between ground and BCM harness connector C1 terminal C9 (Pink/White wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 11). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and BCM harness connector C1 terminal C9 (Pink/White wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 5).
- Leave test light connected as specified in step 4). Disconnect DRL control module, located left of steering column. If test light illuminates, go to step 6). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 7).
- Using test light, backprobe between ground and DRL control module 8-pin Blue harness connector C2 terminal "B" (Pink/White wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 15). If test light does not illuminate, go tostep 8).
- Repair short to ground in Pink/White wire between BCM connector C1 and DRL control module connector C2. Go to step 10).
- Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and DRL control module 8-pin Black harness connector C1 terminal "A" (Orange wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 12). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 13).
- Using test light, backprobe between ground and DRL control module 8-pin Black harness connector C1 terminal "A" (Orange wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 13). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 14).
- Turn ignition off. Replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Reprogram BCM. See BCM PROGRAMMING. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition switch to START, then to RUN position. Perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition switch to START, then to RUN position. Check for DTCs. If DTC B2417 sets again, go to next step. If DTC B2417 does not set again, system is operating properly.
- Repair short to ground in Orange wire between DRL control module connector C1 and underhood electrical center (located on right strut tower). Go to step 10).
- Replace DRL control module. Go to step 10).
- Repair open in Orange wire between DRL control module connector C1 and underhood electrical center (located on right strut tower). Go to step 10).
- Repair poor connection or open in Pink/White wire between DRL control module connector C2 and BCM connector C1. Go to step 10).
