DTC U1040, EBTCM Class 2 Source Id 28: Notes
BCM receives a state of health message from module whose source ID is has learned. DTC U1040 will set when BCM does not receive a state of health message from Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM). No driver warning message will be displayed.
Under all fault conditions, ignition switch must be cycled from OFF to RUN position before a current code will change to a history code. A current DTC U1040 will change to a history code receives a state of health message. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles. DTC U1040 will also clear when scan tool is used to clear codes.
NOTE:
If DTC U1040 is a history code, problem may be intermittent. Wiggle wires while performing the following test.
