DTC B0608, BCM Power MODING Error: Testing
- If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Disconnect BCM 32-pin connector C1. Using test light, backprobe between ground and BCM harness connector C1 terminal C3 (Purple wire). Turn ignition switch to RUN, then to START position. If test light illuminates at both positions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate at both positions, go to step 4).
- Turn ignition off. Using test light, backprobe between ground and BCM harness connector C1 terminal C13 (Purple wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 5). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 6).
- If test light illuminated in one position, go to step 7). If test light did not illuminate in any position, go to step 8).
- Repair short to voltage in Purple wire between BCM connector C1 terminal C13 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 22).
- Turn ignition off. Using test light, backprobe between ground and BCM harness connector C1 terminal C12 (Pink wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 9). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 10).
- Replace ignition switch. Go to step 22).
- Repair poor connection or open in Purple wire between BCM connector C1 terminal C3 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 22).
- Disconnect underhood electrical center connector C2. Connect test light between ground and underhood electrical center harness connector C2 terminal C2 (Pink wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 11). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 12).
- Leave test light connected as specified in step 6). Turn ignition on. Set parking brake. Place gear shift in Drive. If test light illuminates, go to step 13). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 14).
- Repair short to voltage in Pink wire between underhood electrical center connector C2 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 22).
- Connect test light between ground and underhood electrical center harness connector C2 terminal D2 (Pink wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 15). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 16).
- Turn ignition off. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition on, then off. Turn ignition on. Check for DTCs. If DTC B0608 sets again, go to step 17). If DTC B0608 does not set again, system is operating properly.
- Connect test light between ground and underhood electrical center harness connector C2 terminal C2 (Pink wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 18). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 19).
- Repair short to voltage in Pink wire between underhood electrical center connector C2 and BCM connector C1. Go to step 22).
- Replace underhood electrical center. Go to step 22).
- Turn ignition off. Replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Reprogram BCM. See BCM PROGRAMMING. Go to step 22).
