DTC B0608: BCM Power MODING Error: Testing
- If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, see procedures in BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Check CRANK SIGNAL fuse (10-amp), located in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 4).
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Replace CRANK SIGNAL fuse. Turn ignition switch to CRANK position momentarily. Check CRANK SIGNAL fuse. If fuse is blown, go to step 13). If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Check IGN 0 fuse (10-amp), located in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 6).
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Replace IGN 0 fuse. Turn ignition switch to CRANK position momentarily. Check IGN 0 fuse. If fuse is blown, go to step 14). If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Using test light, backprobe between BCM Pink 32-pin connector C1, terminal C12 (Pink wire) and ground. If test light illuminates, go to step 15). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Leave test light connected as specified in step 6). While observing test light, turn ignition switch to RUN, then START position. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. If test light illuminates when ignition switch is in RUN and START positions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate when ignition switch is in RUN and START positions, go to step 16).
- Using test light, backprobe between BCM connector C1, terminal C13 (Purple wire) and ground. While observing test light, turn ignition switch from LOCK to RUN position. If test light does not illuminate when ignition switch is turned from LOCK to RUN position, go to next step. If test light illuminates when ignition switch is turned from LOCK to RUN position, go to step 17).
- Leave test light connected as specified in step 8). While observing test light, turn ignition switch to START position momentarily. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. If test light illuminates when ignition switch is in START position, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate when ignition switch is in START position, go to step 18).
- Ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position. Using test light, backprobe between BCM connector C1, terminal C3 (Purple wire) and ground. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, go to step 19).
- Leave test light connected as specified in step 10). While observing test light, turn ignition switch to RUN, then START position. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. If test light illuminates when ignition switch is in RUN and START positions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate when ignition switch is in RUN and START positions, go to step 20).
- Using scan tool, clear BCM DTCs. See BCM DTC DEFINITIONS under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Wait 10 seconds. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, check for codes. If DTC B0608 is set, go to step 21). If DTC B0608 is not set, go to step 22).
- Repair short to ground in Purple wire between BCM connector C1, terminal C13 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 23).
- Repair short to ground in Purple wire between BCM connector C1, terminal C3 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 23).
- Repair short to voltage in Pink wire between BCM connector C1, underhood accessory wiring junction block and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 23).
- Repair poor connection or open in Pink wire between BCM connector C1, underhood accessory wiring junction block and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 23).
- Repair short to voltage in Purple wire between BCM connector C1, terminal C13 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 23).
- Repair poor connection or open in Purple wire between BCM connector C1, terminal C13 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 23).
- Repair short to voltage in Purple wire between BCM connector C1, terminal C3 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 23).
- Repair poor connection or open in Purple wire between BCM connector C1, terminal C3 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step 23).
- Check for poor terminal connections at BCM connector C1, terminals C3, C12 and C13. If terminal connections are okay, replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reprogram BCM. See BCM PROGRAMMING . Go to step 23).
- System is operating properly at this time. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS. After any repairs are made, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If any DTCs are current, perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK . If no DTCs are current, system is operating properly.
