DTC B2805: RFA Programming/Diagnostic Mode Message Not Received: Description

When any button on keyless entry transmitter is pressed, a radio frequency signal is sent to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). RCDLR then decides which message to send the BCM (according to which button was pressed), which will allow BCM to operate door lock actuators, courtesy lights or remote alarm.

BCM can enable transmitter programming/diagnostic mode. BCM will detect and prevent any message collisions on Remote Function Actuator (RFA) link. BCM also receives programming signals from RCDLR when attempting to enable transmitter programming/diagnostic mode.

DTC B2805 will set when BCM expects to receive a program signal from RCDLR, and it does not after 2 unsuccessful tries. No driver warning message will be displayed. RCDLR will not enter transmitter programming/diagnostic mode.

Under all conditions, ignition switch must be cycled from LOCK/OFF to RUN position for current DTC B2805 to change to a history code. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles. DTC B2805 will also clear when scan tool is used to clear codes.

NOTE: When ignition switch is turned to RUN position with BCM disconnected, PCM-related DTC P1626 will be set. After BCM repair is completed, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section:
