DTC B3268: DECKLID Relay Output Short To Battery: Testing

  1. Perform body rear end diagnostic system check. See BODY REAR END DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect decklid release relay harness connector. Using a test light connected to good ground, test Brown wire at decklid release relay harness connector terminal C2. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  4 .
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM harness connector C3. With test light still connected as in step  2 , turn ignition on. If test light illuminates, go to step  5 . If test light does not illuminate, go to step  6 .
  4. Replace decklid release relay. After repair, go to step  9 .
  5. Repair short to battery voltage in Brown wire between decklid release relay connector terminal C2 and BCM harness connector C3 terminal A9. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repair, go to step  9 .
  6. Turn ignition to OFF position. Reinstall all disconnected or removed components/connectors. Install scan tool. Turn ignition switch to ON position and clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Press decklid release switch on remote keyless transmitter. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. Go to BODY REAR END DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . If DTC B3268 is set as a current DTC, go to next step. If DTC B3268 is not set as current DTC, go to step  9 .
  7. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacement, perform set up procedure. See NEW BCM SETUP  under PROGRAMMING. After replacement, go to step  9 .
  8. Malfunction is not present. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  for additional information. After repair, go to next step.
  9. Turn ignition to OFF position. Reinstall all disconnected or removed components/connectors. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If all repairs are complete and DTC B3268 does not reappear, system is okay. If repairs are not complete and DTC B3268 does reset, go to BODY REAR END DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
