Retained Accessory Power (Rap) Inoperative

  1. Perform retained accessory power (RAP) diagnostic system check. See RETAINED ACCESSORY POWER (RAP) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Verify that fault is present by test driving and operating all systems. If system operates normally, fault is intermittent. See TROUBLE SHOOTING  . If fault is present, go to next step.
  3. Sit in vehicle and close all doors. If DOOR AJAR indicator light turns off when all doors are closed, go to next step. IF DOOR AJAR indicator light does not turn off when all doors are closed, see appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article.
  4. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacement, perform set up procedure. See NEW BCM SETUP  under PROGRAMMING. After replacement, go to next step.
  5. Verify system operation by activating RAP function. If system is okay, repairs are complete. If system is not okay, go to step  2 .
