DTC B1422: Device Power MODING Malfunction: Description
BCM receives 3 voltage input signals. BCM receives voltage from IGN 0, CLUSTER, PCM and BCM fuse (10-amp) when ignition switch is in OFF, RUN or ACC positions. BCM receives voltage from PCM, BCM and UNDERHOOD RELAY fuse (10-amp) when ignition switch is in RUN or START positions. BCM receives voltage from CRANK SIGNAL, BCM, CLUSTER fuse (10-amp) when ignition switch is in RUN or START positions.
DTC B1422 will set when BCM detects any of the following conditions for more than 0.3 second:
- Ignition 1 voltage is greater than 8 volts and Ignition 0 voltage is less than 1.5 volts.
- CRANK voltage is greater than 4.5 volts and Ignition 0 voltage is less than 1.5 volts.
- CRANK voltage is greater than 4.5 volts and Ignition 1 voltage is less than 1.5 volts.
DTC B1422 will clear if BCM no longer detects an open or short to voltage in Ignition 0, Ignition 1 or CRANK circuits. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles. DTC B1422 will also clear when scan tool is used to clear codes.
