DTC B2747: Traction Control Switch Circuit Low: Testing

  1. Perform ABS diagnostic system check. See ABS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to DLC. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Use scan tool to observe TCS switch input parameter in BCM data display list. If scan tool displays ACTIVE, go to next step. If scan tool does not display ACTIVE, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect traction control switch electrical connector. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Use scan tool to observe TCS switch input parameter in BCM data display list. If scan tool displays INACTIVE, go to step  6 . If scan tool does not display INACTIVE, go to next step.
  4. Test Brown/White wire between traction control switch connector and BCM harness connector C3 terminal B6 for a short to ground. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK BRAKES wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS. After repair, go to step  9 . If fault is not located and condition still exists, go to next step.
  5. Inspect for poor connections at BCM harness connector C3. After repair, go to step  9 . If fault is not located and condition still exists, go to step  7 .
  6. Inspect for poor connections at traction control switch harness connector. After repair, go to step  9 . If fault is not located and condition still exists, go to step  8 .
  7. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacement, perform set up procedure. See NEW BCM SETUP  under PROGRAMMING. After replacement, go to step  9 .
  8. Replace traction control switch. After replacement, go to next step.
  9. Using scan tool, clear BCM DTCs. Operate vehicle within conditions to set DTC. If DTC B2747 resets, return to step  2 . If DTC B2747 does not reset, system is okay.
