New BCM Setup

NOTE: Following procedure is written specifically for GM Tech 2 scan tool. A generic scan tool may not be capable of performing all necessary reprogramming functions.

NOTE: After programming new Body Control Module (BCM), go to THEFT DETERRENT RELEARN .

Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to ON position. Select DIAGNOSTICS and input all required vehicle data when prompted by scan tool. Select BODY CONTROL MODULE. Select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS. Select NEW VIN and input all required data. Exit back to SPECIAL FUNCTIONS and select BCM REPROGRAMMING.
When scan tool displays, DO YOU WANT TO SETUP A BODY CONTROL MODULE?, select SETUP BCM hot spot on scan tool. Scan tool will display NOW SETTING UP THE NEW BODY CONTROL MODULE. When BCM has been setup successfully, scan tool will display BODY CONTROL MODULE SETUP IS COMPLETE. When BCM setup procedure and VIN have been entered, go to THEFT DETERRENT RELEARN .

NOTE: After setting up new BCM, inform customer that all personal settings must be set again.
