Theft Deterrent Relearn
NOTE:
If theft deterrent relearn procedure is not performed when Body Control Module (BCM) is replaced, vehicle may not be protected by PASS-Key(R) II system or engine will not crank or start.
NOTE:
Ensure battery is fully charged before performing this procedure. Programming theft deterrent relearn will take about 30 minutes.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Turn ignition switch to START position, then leave it in the ON position. Engine will not crank. SECURITY indicator light should come on for about 10 minutes, then turn off. When indicator light turns off, turn ignition switch to OFF position for 5 seconds.
- Repeat previous step 2 more times, for a total of 3 ignition cycles. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Turn ignition switch to START position. Engine should now start. Check for BCM DTCs. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
