Traction Control Indicator Always On

  1. Perform tire inflation monitoring diagnostic system check. See ABS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off and install scan tool. Turn ignition on and retrieve codes. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If BCM DTC B2747 is present, go to DTC B2747: TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. If BCM DTC B2747 is not present, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition on. Using a scan tool, enter OUTPUT CONTROLS in IPC display. Use WOW mode to turn all instrument panel indicator lights ON and OFF. If TRAC OFF indicator light turns ON and OFF when commanded by scan tool, go to next step. If TRAC OFF indicator light does not turn ON and OFF when commanded by scan tool, go to step  5 .
  4. Replace EBCM. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK BRAKES article in BRAKES. After replacement, go to  6 .
  5. Suspect instrument panel cluster. Perform instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. After repair, go to next step.
  6. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle within conditions to set DTC. If DTC B2747 resets, return to step  2 . If DTC B2747 does not reset, system is okay.
