Test B: Panic Mode Inoperative
NOTE:
Reviewing system description and operation information will help determine if condition described by customer is normal operation, and may help determine correct symptom diagnostic procedure when a malfunction exists. See DESCRIPTION & OPERATION . Perform a preliminary inspection before proceeding. See PRELIMINARY INSPECTION under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- If Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Using RKE transmitter, attempt to operate panic function. If horns or park lights do not pulse on and off, go to next step. If horns and park lights pulse on and off, go to DIAGNOSING INTERMITTENTS .
- If any panic functions operate, go to next step. If no panic functions operate, go to TEST A: KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM INOPERATIVE .
- If park lights do not pulse on and off, repair park lights as necessary. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article. If horn does not pulse on and off, repair horn as necessary. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
