Installation Procedure

Install the power steering pump reservoir to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle (CB Series) .
Install the power steering pump pulley to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement (3.1L) or Power Steering Pulley Replacement (W/3.8L) .
Position the power steering pump to the engine.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the power steering pump mounting bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the mounting bolts to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (3.1L) or Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (3.8L) .
Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (3.1L) or Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (3.8L) .

Install the electrical connector (1) to the power steering pump (4).
Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L36) or Drive Belt Replacement (L67) in Engine Mechanical-3.8L.
Fill the power steering system with fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System .
Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .
