Installation Procedure

Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil. Replace the O-ring if the O-ring is damaged.
Install the CMP camshaft position sensor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the CMP sensor bolt.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (3.1L) in Power Steering Systems.
