Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying MAF/IAT Sensor Bolts

  1. If the upper air cleaner housing was replaced only perform the following steps otherwise proceed to step 6.
  2. Install the MAF/IAT sensor.
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the MAF/IAT sensor bolts and tighten to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  4. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
  5. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the MAF/IAT sensor to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  6. Place the lower air cleaner housing over the studs and push down firmly in order to engage the grommets to the studs.

  7. Install the engine harness and ECM to the lower housing.

  8. Install the air cleaner upper housing.
  9. Engage the 3 integral clips (1) on the lower housing to the upper housing.

  10. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body.
  11. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  12. Connect the AIR pump inlet hose quick connect fitting to the air cleaner. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  13. Connect the PCV fresh air tube quick connect fitting to the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  14. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the MAF/IAT sensor.
