Installation Procedure
NOTE:
Inspect the following areas prior to installing the ECM:
- No debris in the air filter/ECM housing assembly, or the MAF/IAT sensor inlet screen that may distort the air flow.
- No signs of damage to the air filter/ECM housing assembly, or the intake air duct. If a problem is found, replace the components as necessary.
- Install the ECM to the lower air cleaner housing.
- Install the engine harness electrical connectors to the ECM.
- Engage the engine harness electrical connector lever locks at the ECM.
- Install the air cleaner upper housing.
- Engage the upper housing front tabs to the lower housing.
- Engage the lower housing clips (1).
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body.
- Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body.
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
- Connect the AIR pump inlet tube quick connect fitting to the air cleaner upper housing. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Connect the PCV fresh air tube quick connect fitting to the air duct. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the MAF/IAT sensor.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Program the ECM. Refer to Control Module References .
NOTE:
Properly install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body. An improperly installed, distorted, or damaged air duct may cause a DTC to set.
