Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the high side fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
    2. NOTE:

    The fuel injectors have an alignment feature, note the position of the injectors alignment for installation.

  2. Remove the fuel injection fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement .
    3. Fig 1: Fuel Injector Retainers

  3. Remove and discard the fuel injector retainers (1).
  4. Clean and inspect the fuel rail and injectors. Refer to Fuel Rail and Injectors Cleaning and Inspection (LAF, LEA, or LUK) .
