- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

- Remove the splash shield cover.
- Remove the transfer case, if equipped. Refer to Transfer Case Replacement

Crankshaft Position Sensor Procedure
- Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the crankshaft position sensor.
- After replacement of the crankshaft position sensor, use a scan tool to speed up the learn process. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn .
