Shift Lock Control Operational and Functional Checks

After replacement of electrical or mechanical components on the selector lever must be carried out subsequent inspections to ensure the proper functions of all safety precautions on the selector lever. The security functions (unlocked ignition OFF position, steering wheel lock) in the positions 0 (ignition OFF), 1, 2 (ignition ON) (start engine) and 3 checked the ignition switch.

Ignition Key Position Checking Routine
0 and 1 The control lever is locked in position P and must not even be released after pushing the brake pedal.
If the engine is turned off in all control lever positions other than P, the magnet switch lock lever while inserting the control lever position P into place, and then the control lever must be locked.
0 The ignition key in selector lever position P can only removed in this position.
2 After pushing the brake pedal, the shift selector lever will released and can be moved out of the position P.
If the shift selector lever is not in the position P, the ignition key can not removed in the ignition key position 0. The ignition key can only twisted back in the ignition key position 1.
In all selector lever positions other than P can not disengage the magnet switch lock lever when the brake pedal was pushed.
3 Starting of the engine is only in selector lever position P and N possible.
