Traction Control Disable

WARNING: Placing a non-compatible vehicle on a single-axle dynamometer could result in a safety hazard to technicians and damage to vehicle. Vehicles which use All-Wheel Drive (AWD) or traction control may not be clearly marked. Use common sense and take all necessary precautions when placing any vehicle on the dynamometer. Determine between full-time 4WD and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) for testing purposes. The following tables include information related to full-time 4WD and AWD vehicles, and how to disable the traction control system (if disengageable).

WARNING: DO NOT operate vehicle on a 2-wheel dynamometer if the DO NOT TEST column is marked.

⁽¹⁾	Traction control is disabled when transmission is in 1st or 2nd gear and with parking brake applied. TRAC OFF indicator will illuminate when system is disabled.

⁽²⁾	Traction control switch is part of twilight sentinel/instrument panel dimmer assembly.

⁽³⁾	Traction control button is to left of steering wheel.

⁽⁴⁾	Traction control button is on end of shift lever. TRAC OFF indicator will illuminate when system is disabled.

⁽⁵⁾	Press traction control switch located on the center console. The TCS warning light and appropriate DIC message comes on when system is disabled.

⁽⁶⁾	Traction control switch is on instrument panel. TRAC OFF indicator will illuminate when system is disabled.

⁽⁷⁾	TRACTION switch is located on panel located behind the transaxle shift lever. TRAC OFF indicator will illuminate when system is disabled.

⁽⁸⁾	Traction control button is located on center console. TRAC OFF indicator will illuminate when system is disabled.

⁽⁹⁾	Traction control button is near the shift lever, unless the vehicle has a DIC. Then the TCS button is located above the radio. Press to deactivate.

⁽¹⁰⁾	Traction control system button is near the shift lever. Press and release and the TCS button to turn system off. The TCS warning light (or appropriate DIC message, if equipped) comes on. Press again to turn the system back on.

⁽¹¹⁾	Traction control system button is located below the infotainment system screen. Press and release and the TCS button to turn system off. The TCS warning light (or appropriate DIC message, if equipped) comes on. Press again to turn the system back on.

⁽¹²⁾	To turn off both TCS and StabiliTrak, press and hold TRACTION OFF button until the StabiliTrak Off light comes on and stays on in the instrument cluster. The appropriate DIC message is displayed.

⁽¹⁾	Press TAS button located near shift lever. Indicator light on button will illuminate when system is disabled.

⁽²⁾	Press TRAC OFF button (skidding car symbol). TRAC OFF indicator light will illuminate when system is disabled.

⁽³⁾	The traction control part of StabiliTrak can be turned off by pressing and releasing the traction control button located on the instrument panel. When the traction control system is turned off, the appropriate TRACTION CONTROL OFF message will be displayed on the DIC.
