Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the splash shield cover.
  3. Remove the transfer case, if equipped. Refer to Transfer Case Replacement .
1 Crankshaft Position Sensor Fastener
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
8 N.m (71 lb in)
2 Crankshaft Position Sensor

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the crankshaft position sensor.
  2. After replacement of the crankshaft position sensor, use a scan tool to speed up the learn process. Refer to Crankshaft Position Variation Learn .
