Manifold Air Temperature Sensor (MAT)

This sensor is mounted in the intake manifold directly in front of the throttle body. MAT sensor measures air/fuel mixture temperature in intake manifold.

The sensor resistance changes as air temperature changes. ECM receives this change in signal and adjusts injector pulse accordingly. Low temperature produces high resistance.
