Manifold Air Temperature Sensor (MAT)

This sensor is mounted in the intake manifold directly in front of throttle body. Mat sensor measures temperature of air/fuel mixture in the intake manifold.

ECM uses this information in calculating intake air density and adjusts injector pulse accordingly. The sensor resistance changes as air temperature changes. Low temperature produces high resistances.
