Throttle Position Sensor (TPS): Installation
- With throttle valve in closed idle position, install TPS sensor on throttle body assembly. Ensure lever is located above tang on throttle actuator lever. Install retainers and new TPS screws and lock washers.
- Tighten screws so TPS will move but is not loose. Reconnect electrical connector. Adjust TPS. See the V8 TUNE-UP article in this section.
CAUTION:
DO NOT
apply Loctite to TPS retaining screws. Retaining screws will break if Loctite is applied. Always use new retaining screws.
