The cruise control "SET/COAST" switch is normally open and provides a 12-volt signal to ECM terminal B4 when switch is depressed. When cruise control dash switch is depressed to "ON" position, the dash switch provides a 12-volt signal to the cruise control/steering column switch on terminal A4 of circuit No. 397. When "SET/COAST" button is depressed, the steering column switch terminal A4 is connected to terminal E3 of circuit No. 84, providing the ECM with a 12-volt input on terminal B4.
