Air Induction

The air induction system consists of throttle body and intake manifold. Air entering the throttle body is distributed to each cylinder through intake manifold.

Throttle body contains a special distribution skirt below each injector valve to improve fuel distribution. Airflow rate is controlled by throttle valves connected to accelerator linkage. Idle speed is determined by throttle valve positioning. Throttle valve positioning is regulated by the Idle Speed Control (ISC) solenoid which is controlled by the ECM.
