BCM Code B334, Loss Of Pcm Data: Notes

If BCM cannot exchange data with PCM and ignition is on, Code B334 will be set. If other communication codes are stored along with Code B334, see MULTIPLE INTERMITTENT CODES. If Code B334 is the only code stored, failure will be located as an open in circuit No. 800H, or an open in circuits No. 800J and 800G, or a faulty PCM or PCM MEM-CAL.

During a failure a fail soft value equal to 100°C will be used coolant temperature. The cooling fans will be ran at high speed and no PCM diagnostic information will be available display. While in the service diagnostic mode, this code will remain active, always checking proper operation.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Checks intermittent operating conditions.
  2. Check to see if open is in circuit No. 800 between PCM and CCDIC. If CCDIC blanks, dataline connections are good.
  3. If CCDIC display did not go blank in this step, an open exists between the CCDIC and the PCM in the data circuit. Grounding CCDIC terminal B8 will isolate problem if open is in the circuit or internal to the CCDIC.
