Pcm Code EO19, Shorted Fuel Pump Circuit: Action:
PCM turns on SERVICE VEHICLE SOON message on CCDIC panel. PCM monitors fuel pump feedback voltage 4 seconds after ignition is turned on without the engine being cranked. The fuel pump relay will be energized 2 seconds and then de-energized.
If voltage on fuel pump feedback never drops below 7 volts during the first 4 seconds, Code EO19 will set indicating voltage on circuit No. 120 with fuel pump relay de-energized. The oil pressure switch must be disconnected.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- With key on, engine off, fuel pump should not be running and fuel pump feedback (PCM parameter ED10) should be zero volts. If ED10 shows voltage greater than 7 volts, circuit No. 120 must be repaired.
- This diagnostic chart branch checks shorted oil pressure switch contacts, powering fuel pump at all times. A shorted oil pressure switch will cause Code EO19 to set.
- This checks shorted fuel pump relay.
- This checks voltage on circuit No. 120 at PCM.
- This checks proper control of the fuel pump relay by the PCM.
