Pcm Code E019, Shorted Fuel Pump Circuit: Action

PCM turns on SERVICE VEHICLE SOON message. PCM monitors fuel pump feedback voltage for 4 seconds after ignition is turned on without engine being cranked. Fuel pump relay will be energized for 2 seconds and then de-energized.

1. With ignition on (engine off), fuel pump should not be running and fuel pump feedback (PCM parameter ED10) should be zero volts. If ED10 shows voltage greater than 7 volts, circuit No. 120 must be repaired.
2. This checks for shorted oil pressure switch contacts, which will power fuel pump at all times. A shorted oil pressure switch will cause PCM Code E019 to set.
3. This checks for shorted fuel pump relay.
4. This checks for voltage on circuit No. 120 at PCM.
5. This checks for proper control of fuel pump relay by PCM.
