Pcm Code E070, Intermittent TPS Signal: Action
No code set. No service message is given.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
- PCM Code E070 is not present at this time unless PCM Code E021, E022, E031, E032 or E034 is current. This code indicates an unacceptable high rate of TPS change.
- As ISC extends, TPS voltage (as measured at TPS jumper) should increase at a steady rate. A dead spot in TPS will cause voltage to jump erratically as ISC moves TPS past dead spot. Use a high impedance needle-type voltmeter for this test.
- If throttle blade cannot return to idle stop, throttle valves may be coked or binding. These conditions may set PCM Codes E055 and E058.
- Improper TPS adjustment, such as forcing or tapping on TPS without loosening attaching screws, will damage TPS and can cause PCM Code E070 to set.
